The province of Flevoland is surrounded by magnificent waterways. On the westside, Flevoland is enclosed by the Markermeer and on the northside by the Ketelmeer. On the south and east side you find the Gooimeer, Veluwemeer, Eemmeer, Wolderwijd, Vossemeer and Drontenermeer. This large water sports area was created after the reclamation of Flevoland and was intended to drain the Veluwe. Ultimately, Flevoland is a colorful mix of land reclaimed from the sea, but also parts that have been part of the Netherlands for centuries. A trip through Flevoland is pure enjoyment and therefore we will lighten some of the most beautiful routes!
From North to South
The sailing route through Flevoland from north to south begins at the Ketelmeer. Here you sail to the Vossemeer in the direction of Roggebotsluis. Because it can be very busy here, it is important that you stay between the buoys and take account of other ships by keeping to starboard. Therefore take long waiting times into account. After the Roggebotsluis lock, sail onto the Drontenermeer towards Elburg. Here you will find a large landscape with many water birds. Stay in the channel because the buoys can be very shallow.

Once arrived at the Elburgerbrug you go portside towards Elburg and starboard along the municipal marina. You can also continue to the new marina, which is located directly adjacent to the center. In busy periods the berths are often occupied. This is partly because Elburg has many nice stores and terraces. With attractions such as museums and several eel smokehouses, this is definitely worth a visit.
Elburg
Once you have passed the Elburg bridge you come out on the large Veluwe Lake. Outside the channel it is very shallow. At the Ton- VM9 you pass the marina of Riviera Beach. Here you will find a complete amusement park and vacation park. In addition, there are many more activities and you can spend the day here pleasantly with your children.
Veluwemeer
Would you prefer peace and quiet instead of a busy amusement park? Then take this route through Flevoland. It offers plenty of options. You can sail on to Harderwijk. First you will pass a water sports area at the Bremerbergse Hoek. You can moor at the island De Ral, the other islands are prohibited area. You can also continue to the center, here are several mooring possibilities. Also here are many cozy restaurants and cafes.
